Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer telemedicine appointments?

Currently, due to COVID-19, all sessions are being held as telemedicine/teletherapy sessions. Our clinic offers HIPAA-complaint, secure video-conferencing for all sessions.

Do you take insurance?

We are a practice independent of insurance contracts to provide the best, most attentive care to patients. Dr. Karim is an out of network provider with all insurance companies. We seek to make our practice as accessible as possible and can provide you with medical billing receipts that you can submit to your insurance company. We also partner with Reimbursify, who can provide our patients with affordable and high-quality claim support, if you choose to utilize their services.

Are there advantages to being seen out-of-network?

Access: Your appointments can last as long as you and your doctor decide, and can be as frequent as needed, without any interference from insurance companies

Privacy: Your chart is completely confidential if you do not seek reimbursement from your insurance company, and will never be released to your insurance company without your permission.

Financial: Many patients who choose to seek reimbursement are surprised to find that the filing process is relatively simple and that benefits are higher than assumed.

What is your cancellation policy and no-show policy?

Once your appointment is scheduled, Dr. Karim holds that time especially for you. We ask for at least two full business days advance notice if you need to cancel a session. For instance, if your appointment is on Monday at 4pm, please cancel no later than the previous Thursday at 4pm. If you aren’t able to let us know about a cancellation at least two full business days in advance, you will be charged the full fee.
